Interscholastic athletics at Schoolhouse Preparatory supplement and support the academic mission of our school.  Our Athletic program promotes the importance of teamwork, effort, goals, and commitment, and academic achievement. Student athletes are expected to uphold the school’s disciplinary and academic standards. Participation in extracurricular activities are only permissible if the student is academically eligible, and if the student acts in a way which is in accordance with the expectations of conduct. 
Schoolhouse Prep and our student athletes abide by the bylaws and policies established by Florida Statutes and the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA).

Student Athletes are required to maintain a minimum GPA of 2.3  for the most recently completed marking period.  Academic eligibility is determined on the date report cards are issued, and remains until the next report card is issued. 
A student shall be eligible for no more than four (4) consecutive academic years or (8) consecutive semesters from the date he/she first enrolls in the ninth grade. If you reach a 5th year of high school, you will be ineligible that year (FHSAA Bylaw 9.5.1).  ​
International students attending Schoolhouse Prep under an F1 VISA must present original language transcripts beginning in the 8th grade until present grading period to determine eligibility to participate in a sport.
​You must not turn 19 prior to July 1st (FHSAA Bylaw 9.6.1).
TRANSFERS AND GOOD CAUSE POLICY
Student athletes who transfer on or after the official start date may participate provided he or she meets Schoolhouse Prep's GOOD CAUSE POLICY  to determine their eligibility for participation in our athletic programs.  If determined eligible, the student athlete must wait until their 6th day of attendance before participating in a contest (FHSAA Bylaw 9.3.3).
NOTE: Students who have been expelled or suspended from participating in athletics at their previous school will not be eligible to participate in Schoolhouse Athletics.

​GOOD SPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT

​Student Athletes must exhibit respectful behavior to teammates, coaches, teachers and display good sportsmanship always. 
INSURANCE
All student-athletes are required to carry insurance in order to participate in Schoolhouse Athletics. A copy of the policy must be submitted to the school.
