Schoolhouse Preparatory students who maintain a 3.0 GPA are eligible to register for dual enrollment college credits beginning in 11th Grade. Credits received through dual enrollment may be transferred to any receiving institution. Dual Enrollment courses become a part of a student's permanent college transcript.
- Criteria: Student must maintain a minimum of a 3.0 GPA while enrolled in Dual Enrollment Classes and be in 11th, or 12th grade. Student must also obtain passing Scores on the PERT entrance examination in both reading and mathematics or receiving passing scores on the SAT or ACT College Admissions Test.
- PERT Exam: This is a free exam. Eligible Schoolhouse students are taken to the Miami Dade College to sit for the test in either the Spring or fall term. Sophomores can only sit for the PERT during the 2nd semester of 10th grade. It is an untimed computerized exam and the results are available the same day.
- Cost: $71.98 per credit. Students will also be charged for books and/or lab fees.
- Location: Students can enroll in courses at any of the Miami Dade campuses and take courses after school or during the summer term.
